Welcome to CirclePoint!
CirclePoint Bullying Prevention Resources provides educators and parents with information on bullying, effective mechanisms for preventing and resolving issues, and an easy-to-implement, evidence-based bullying prevention program. While bullying is widely recognized as a public health problem, educators, who are on the front lines of addressing this issue, receive little to no training on the topic. This site is intended to fill that training gap, provide educators with effective solutions, and help educators and parents work in partnership on bullying issues. The CirclePoint resources are inclusive, gender-neutral, and based on science and data to provide solutions to bullying, intolerance, and expressions of discrimination and racism in school environments.
The CirclePoint Information Center is a comprehensive knowledge base covering all aspects of bullying prevention and issue resolution. The Information Center addresses bullying fundamentals, provides modern strategies for effectively addressing bullying issues, and describes common problems with traditional approaches to help educators understand why certain legacy techniques and schools of thought on bullying are ineffective.
The CirclePoint Method is a bullying prevention program that empowers all school community members, including parents, with a set of effective mechanisms for preventing and resolving bullying issues. The Method has two advantages over other programs. First, the mechanisms that comprise the Method are based on a modern understanding of bullying behavior and have been found to be highly effective in schools. Second, the Method does not require a significant resource commitment to implement or substantial overhead to sustain. Schools and similar organizations can roll the program out at a pace that suits their resource availability. As a matter of fact, it is recommended that schools adopt one mechanism at a time and build gradually to ensure that the changes brought about by the program are fully absorbed by the community and become permanent. And implementing the program does not require a significant financial commitment; program implementations can be self-directed and leverage the free information found in the Information Center.
CirclePoint's Materials are designed to help educators, school support staff, and students understand bullying and prevent and resolve issues. The materials can be used to supplement existing programs, support social-emotional learning, and on a targeted or strategic basis to help address issues within classes or groups. The student guide is an excellent resource for helping students with individual bullying issues. The CirclePoint materials have been used in schools worldwide, by healthcare organizations, and as textbooks at the university level.
