Woburn Public School Adds CirclePoint Guide to Special Needs Class

Tara Williams, School Psychologist for Woburn Public Schools in Massachusetts, had added the CirclePoint comic, What YOU Can Do About Bullying by Max and Zoey, to her curriculum for special needs students. “I am starting a bullying unit in social skills group with my higher functioning autistic students in 6th and 7th grade,” she said. “These kids are general education students who just need some help with social pragmatics. I was just looking at the book and think it’s great. Many of my students are more engaged by the comic book style.” She added, “I love how [the book] points out examples of what is NOT bullying because I see that even when provided with instruction on what bullying is, [some students] still sometimes have difficulty differentiating between bullying and someone annoying them.”
